How detoxing works
Periods of cleansing serve a purpose. They give organs like the stomach and intestines time to rest and clear built up waste. They take blood that would usually be used by your digestive system to other parts of the body, where it can help heal things that need to heal. Also, during periods of fasting, your body goes from using your food as fuel to using fat stores from within your body, helping you to lose weight and releasing trapped toxins. Drinking juices during a fast ensures that while all this is is going on, you're still getting lots of vitamins and nutrients.
What can I expect?
Your fast is detoxifying. The more toxins in your system, the more there are to come out. In some cases detoxing can cause headaches and flu-like symptoms, so if your body has a lot to get rid of then you might notice these kinds of symptoms, to some extent on day 1, 2 or 3 of your fast. You may not notice them at all but if you do don't worry, it's perfectly normal. Have a big drink of water and a rest. The feeling will pass and you will feel so much better than you did when you were carrying those toxins around with you.

It's really important that you commit to drinking only your Bliss juices, water and caffeine free herbal teas for the duration of your fast.
Beginning your day with a slice of lemon added to a mug of hot water with accelerate the detox process. And make sure to drink at least 2 litres of water per day, on top of your juices. You are going to need the bathroom more often than usual and that's good – you are flushing away toxins every time.
If you find yourself with a headache, which is perfectly normal, try not to take tablets. Headaches, aches and pains are all part of the detox process. Reach for a big drink of water, then rest if you need to until the feeling passes.
Don't focus on hunger. You will probably find that you get less hungry than you expected you would. That's because your body is still getting all the nutrients it needs. You may miss food – eating is fun – so distract yourself, have a cup of herbal tea, go for a walk etc. If you do feel hungry know that the feeling will pass. A process is going to take place inside your body. For the first few days your brain will ask your stomach for food. When it realises that tactic isn't working (usually around day 4) it will begin to try something new. You may then find yourself less hungry and, instead, filled with new energy and feeling fantastic!
You have enough supply for 5 juices per day. They have been specially designed to give you the nutrients you need at different times of day. They are your juices, so drink them when you like but this is the menu we suggest:
INGREDIENTS: cucumber, pear, broccoli, spinach, pineapple, lime, chlorella
SUPERFOOD: Chlorella is a blue-green algae packed with protein, iron, zinc and a host of other nutrients. It helps to detox heavy metals from the body and it's rich in chlorophyll – the pigment that gives leafy vegetables their dark green colour, as well as lots of their health benefits!
MID MORNING: Oranginal
INGREDIENTS: carrot, orange, butternut squash, pineapple , Mint, camu camu
BENEFIT: immune system health
SUPERFOOD: camu camu is an Amazonian berry packed with more vitamin C than almost any other food, as well as a host of anti-oxidants and other beneficial nutrients. It even contains anti-viral properties.
INGREDIENTS: carrot, beet, raspberries, distilled water, blackberries, acai berry
BENEFIT: heart and skin health
SUPERFOOD: another Amazonian berry, acai contains particularly high anti-oxidant levels and is thought to benefit heart health, as well as for its anti-ageing properties

SUPERFOOD: Spirulina is a blue-green algae which, like chlorella, is particularly high in protein and B vitamins
INGREDIENTS: cantaloupe, honeydew melon, cucumber, pineapple, flax seeds, lemon

SUPERFOOD: flaxseeds, also known as linseeds, are the richest plant-based source of omega-3 essential fatty acids. They are also packed with fibre and magnesium.
